A recent BMA survey suggests patient safety is at risk due to GP’s dealing with an unmanageable amount of work. The survey found that that 57% of family doctors, better known as GP’s find their workload unmanageable whilst another 27% find the workload excessive, which can effect patient safety. The survey looked at 5,025 GP’s who believed the enormous amount of work prevented them from offering high- quality and safe care the patients at times. Doctors in the South East and West Midlands both showed a 86% high in regards to the effects of an unmanageable workload.
